As an Alumni member of Amanah Sisters you are expressing your desire to contribute to
your community, in particular, provide support, friendship and guidance to your New Sisters in Islam.

Our Alumni Sisters participate in many ways and are the core of our group.  
They are using their various talents, skills and abilities to help in reaching out to the Amanah members.

Some Alumni members will be directly involved "one on one" with our new Amanah members.
Other Alumni members may also choose to be involved by volunteering their time through
different committees.

An approximate  English interpretation of Verses 31-32 from Surah Kahf (The Cave) from the Holy Qur'an:

ِإِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ عَمَلًا أُولَـٰئِكَ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهَار
يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا خُضْرًا مِّن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ ۚ نِعْمَ الثَّوَابُ وَحَسُنَتْ مُرْتَفَقًاً

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – indeed, We will not allow to be lost
the reward of any who did well in deeds.  Those will have gardens of perpetual residence; beneath
them rivers will flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green
garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward,
and good is the resting place.

Some of our current Alumni members are "silent" members.  They will receive our regular emails
and be aware of our activities and will if Allah wills, inform us of any classes, halaqa's (religious gathering)
and events coming up.  More importantly if they come across a New Muslimah, they will be able to tell
her about our group and facilitate appropriate introductions.  Also, if Allah wills,  they will promote our
group to other sisters, in order that Amanah Sisters may become a known fixture in the Muslim
community if Allah wills.  It is by word of mouth that we envision our ability to reach out across the
Greater Toronto Area and further to find and help our New Sisters.

Below is an English approximation of a quote from Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him):

...And whoever eases a straitened circumstance (for the believer), Allah will make it easy for him
in this life and the Hereafter; and whoever covers a believer, Allah will cover him in this life and in
the Hereafter. Allah is at the assistance of the slave (of His), so long as the slave is at the assistance
of his brother…" (Muslim)
