Paulding Village Council met in Regular Session on April 18, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. Mayor Greg Reinhart called the meeting to order.

 

Finance Director Annette Hasch called roll with the following members present: Randy Daeger, Robert L. Boyd, Ryan Mapes, Danny Workman, Tim Boss, and Barb Rife. Administrator Harry Wiebe was also present, as was Solicitor Mike Jones via Skype.

 

Danny Workman motioned to approve the minutes of the April 4th Council meeting, seconded by Robert L. Boyd. Vote: all yea.

 

            Randy Daeger reported that the Cemetery Board has accepted the Solid Ground Mowing Contract for the 2016 season. Barb Rife made a motion to ratify the approval of the Cemetery Mowing Contract with Solid Ground LLC, seconded by Tim Boss. Vote: all yea.

 

Randy Daeger also mentioned that the dates were corrected on the Mowing Contract for Daniel Vance.

 

Finance Director Annette Hasch asked for the approval to be a signer for the Paulding Village’s First Federal Bank account. Dan Workman motioned to approve Annette as a signatory for the First Federal Bank Account, seconded by Barb Rife. Vote: all yea.

Harry Wiebe presented the Administrator’s Agenda. The agenda consisted of the following:

      Harry Wiebe mentioned that the Street Committee will be discussing the parking legislation and the Handicap Parking legislation at its upcoming meeting.

 

      Harry Wiebe gave an update on the N. Williams/Gasser Rd Intersection Project. We have secured the 629 Grant in the amount of $310,000. The ODOT Jobs & Commerce ED Program Funds of $150,000 is still pending, as well as the $169,000 from Paulding County Transportation Improvement District.

 

Harry Wiebe said that the Bid Opening for the Water Meter Project will be April 26, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.

 

Mayor Reinhart reported that one of our full-time Police officers has resigned. New applicants will be interviewed soon.

 

Mayor Reinhart also wanted to thank Regina Weidenhamer for her hard work in making an arrest for the murder case and the rest of the Police force for picking up the slack during that time. He also thanked the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Unit for all they did in helping with the murder case.

 

Randy Daeger motioned for Council to move into Executive Session to consider the employment of a public employee, seconded by Tim Boss. Vote: all yea.

The following meetings were scheduled:

 

·         Buildings & Grounds Committee—Tuesday, April 26, 2016 @ 5:30 p.m.

·         Street Committee—Tuesday, April 26, 2016, immediately following Buildings & Grounds Committee meeting.

·         Utility Committee—Wednesday, April 27, 2016 @ 5:30 p.m. @ Water Treatment Plant

 

 

Barb Rife motioned to pay the bills, seconded by Ryan Mapes. Vote: all yea.
