Rajeev Bakshi PGP 79 and Das Narayandas PGP 84 are Distinguished Alumni of 2014
We take great pride in announcing the winners of the Distinguished Alumni Awards 2014. The awardees of this year are Rajeev Bakshi PGP 79 (CEO of Metro Cash & Carry) and Prof. Das Narayandas PGP 84 (Senior Associate Dean and James J. Hill Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School).This award is in recognition of their significant professional excellence, contribution to the industry, academia and the society.
Rajeev Bakshi, Managing Director of METRO Cash & Carry India, is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the overall operations and growth of METRO in India. Under his guidance METRO Cash & Carry India has embarked on a pan-India expansion with a focus on customer orientation.In his career spanning close to 35 years, Rajeev has held senior leadership positions in companies like ICICI Ventures, Pepsico International and Cadbury Schweppes.
Das Narayandas is James J. Hill Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. He is currently the Senior Associate Dean, Chair, Harvard Business Publishing and Senior Associate Dean, Chair, Executive Education. In addition, he is co-chair of the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, Building Client Management Capabilities in Professional Service Firms. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Technology degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, a PGP from the IIMB, and a Ph.D. in Management from Purdue University.
The award will be given away during the Foundation Day celebrations of IIMB to be held on October 28, 2014. We solicit your presence at this august ceremony.
Salutations to the captain of India's Mars Mission - Dr. K Radhakrishnan
As the nation celebrated Mangalyaan's successful entry into the Mars Orbiter, IIMB's celebration was made extra sweet by the fact that we had our alumnus leading this mission. Padmashri Dr. K Radhakrishnan PGP 76, Chairman of ISRO, has been the captain of India's Mars Mission. We, the entire IIMB community, congratulate him on this larger-than-life achievement.
