Wendy House 80s

The Wendy house is a truly english invention, which first came to prominence in J. M. Barrie's play Peter Pan or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. When Wendy Darling dies in Neverland, having been shot by Tootles, Peter Pan and the Lost Boys build a small house around her body where she fell. Out of this sad story grew our national tradition of a Wendy house.

I remember during the early 80's a kid on the same street as me had a TARDIS wendy house type thing. It had plastic poles that fitted together to form a frame and the TARDIS part was a plastic cover that went over the frame. I remember the interior was pretty interesting with a console mock.

I got to relive my teens and we sang our hearts out to some of the most iconic songs of the 80s in the glorious sunshine. Thanks so much to Ecover for this incredible opportunity! Being a kid whose little sister had a bunch of Wendy houses in built-up areas of the U.K. during mid-to-late 80s, I've seen at first hand experience.

Wendy House itself though, is a a shadow of its former self. The rise and fall I first attended Wendy House eight years ago. It was magic. They had three rooms. Stylus played alternative and 80s, Mine hosted the Mutate room (EBM) and Bat Coda (now Pulse) hosted an indie room. They were all full.
