Liquid cooling systems circulate coolant through passages in the engine block and cylinder head, absorbing heat and transferring it to a radiator. The radiator, cooled by the vehicle’s airflow or a water pump, dissipates heat into the external environment. Air cooling relies on airflow over fins or external housing to remove heat from engine cylinders and exhaust components. Common in motorcycles, small engines, and older vehicles, this system avoids the complexity of liquid circuits but requires careful maintenance to prevent overheating under sustained high loads.
