Check out Parkinson Lab ongoing research. We study of evolutionary processes including speciation, trait evolution, and biogeography using phylogenetics.
In a study supported by the National Science Foundation, Army Research Office, Defense Advanced Projects Agency, and a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship, the researchers used 253 snake trips to build up a diffraction pattern.
The survey of research scientists and managers resulted in identication of twenty questions that participants considered important and that would lead to progress in research on marine snakes (Table 1). The twenty questions were classed within six themes.
Snake research could advance robotics to move through narrow tunnels after a disaster. Date: .Biologists are studying the mechanics of snake movement to understand exactly how they can propel themselves forward like a train through a tunnel.

The researchers used more than 180 digitised specimens from both extinct and extant snake and lizard species to study squamate evolution, and were able to reconstruct the skull of a likely ancestral snake.
Experts believe that understanding the snake and its behaviour is the first step towards reducing negative human-snake interactions. Radio telemetry enables researchers to study a number of factors about snakes that cannot be studied through traditional observations.
Hodges got one krait for his research study so far. Once caught, the snake was implanted with a radio transmitter inside its stomach cavity. The snake will then be released back to nature, with its natural daily activity being tracked with a receiver.

As we can see from the illustration, Snake Research And Study has many fascinating aspects to explore.
More research needed? Yet Melo-Sampaio also expressed concerns about the papers methodology, specifically its heavy reliance on genetics to parse out the three new species. (See 22 spectacular snake pictures.)
Study coauthors Mark Bellin and Hannah Hirou prepare antivenom during the course of the research. Nicholas Bayless. The first antibody, known as LNX-D09, protected mice from a lethal dose of whole venom from six of the snake species.
