The Olhausen New Orleans pool table stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of American craftsmanship, merging the timeless appeal of billiards with the vibrant culture of the Crescent City. For the serious player and the dedicated collector, this specific model represents a convergence of traditional values and modern engineering, offering a playing surface that is as reliable as it is beautiful.
When evaluating a premium pool table, the foundation is always the bed, and the Olhausen New Orleans design excels in this critical area. Utilizing a one-piece, solid maple slate bed, the table ensures a level playing surface that remains true for decades, resisting the warping and settling that plague lesser models. This construction provides the stability necessary for precise angles and consistent ball roll, which is the hallmark of a professional-grade setup.
The Heritage of New Orleans
Olhausen has long been a name synonymous with quality in the billiards world, and the New Orleans series specifically channels the spirit of the city it is named after. Known for its intricate details and robust construction, this line captures the essence of Southern craftsmanship. The rich, dark finishes and ornate leg designs are reminiscent of the historic architecture found in the French Quarter, making it a statement piece that complements both classic and contemporary interiors.
Superior Playing Performance
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the performance of the Olhausen New Orleans is unmatched in its class. The use of genuine leather cushions ensures that the balls react with a predictable and lively bounce, allowing for a more strategic and controlled game. The pocket openings are carefully profiled to accept the standard 2-7/8 inch tournament ball without sacrificing the challenge of making difficult shots, thus satisfying both casual players and competitive enthusiasts.

Customization and Craftsmanship
One of the defining features of owning an Olhausen table is the level of customization available. Owners can select from a variety of premium billiard cloth colors, allowing the table to become a true centerpiece of the room. The frame and leg details can be tailored to ensure the piece fits seamlessly into the designated space, whether it's a dedicated game room or a stylish basement bar.
The assembly and delivery process for an Olhausen New Orleans model is handled with the precision the brand is known for. Unlike mass-produced furniture, these tables are built to order, meaning the final product is a bespoke item created to last. The weight and density of the slate ensure that the table remains a permanent fixture, resisting the temptation to move it with each change in interior trends.
Investment in Longevity
While the initial investment in an Olhausen New Orleans pool table is significant, it is best viewed as a long-term asset. These tables are not merely pieces of furniture; they are heirlooms designed to be passed down through generations. With proper maintenance, the playing surface will only improve over time, developing a natural patina that tells the story of countless games played within the home.
