Use a pocket hole jig to create pocket holes on the inside faces of the sides and the ends of the back piece. These will be used to attach the supports and back piece.

Assemble the Bookcase

Apply wood glue to the ends of the supports and insert them into the pocket holes on the sides. Secure with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws. Repeat for the other side and the back piece.

Attach the feet to the bottom of the sides using 1-1/4" wood screws. These will raise your bookcase off the ground and add stability.

Sand and Finish

Sand any rough edges or surfaces with 120-grit sandpaper. If desired, apply stain or paint to give your bookcase a personalized touch.

Let it Dry

Allow the finish to dry completely before placing your books on the shelves.

Tips for a Perfect Bookcase

  • Consider the weight of your books when deciding on the size and placement of your supports.
  • For a more rustic look, you can leave your bookcase natural and apply a clear sealant.
  • To make your bookcase even more functional, add casters to the feet for easy movement.

Congratulations! You've just built a beautiful and functional 3-shelf bookcase. Enjoy displaying your favorite books and enhancing your space.
