Bring to a boil while stirring to dissolve the sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–12 minutes until berries are soft and burst. Mash gently to release more juice. Strain through a fine sieve, pressing to extract all the liquid. Let the syrup cool completely. 2️⃣ Prepare the soda base: In a large clean pressure safe bottle, add the strained ginger bug and the cooled syrup mixed with 1.2 liters water. Leave about 2–3 cm headspace. Shake to mix.
