Reception Notes for Gmail lets staff attach shared notes to email threads inside Gmail, so a reception team can see what is outstanding on each email. It is an internal tool for the practices operated by B Williams Consulting.
When you sign in, the extension uses your Google account email address to identify who wrote or changed each note. The notes you type, the related email thread identifier and subject, your email address, and the time of each change are stored in the organisation's private Google Firebase (Firestore) database, hosted in Australia (australia-southeast1).
Notes are readable and writable only by authorised staff of the organisation, enforced by server-side security rules. An append-only audit record of changes is readable only by the organisation owner. Data is not sold, and is not shared with any third party outside the organisation's own Google Cloud project.
The extension requests access to Gmail (to show the notes), Google sign-in (to identify you), and the organisation's Firebase endpoints (to store and retrieve notes). It does not read the contents of your emails beyond the subject line and thread identifier needed to attach a note.
