Our mission, "empowering Hawaii's families to lead healthy and full lives" provides the framework for our organization to give women and children a safe place to live while implementing programs to help them develop and maintain self. Women in suburban Lihue, Hawaii, with substance use, domestic violence, homelessness or are involved in the justice system can find help at Women in Need (WIN).
Kimmy collaborates with Executive Director, Mary Scott-Lau to manage and develop programs to best serve the Kauai clients and community. Continuing to direct the WIN Kauai Program, Kimmy has gained much experience in working with the reintegration population from Kauai Community Correctional Center as one of it's referring sources for housing women who are exiting incarceration, and in need. The County of Kaua'i announced that Kauaʿi Police Department, in partnership with Kauaʿi County Housing Agency (KCHA), has awarded Women In Need (WIN) a grant of $500,000 to provide housing support to houseless individuals and families. Combined WIN housed over XX women and children, provide case management, life skills, employment counseling, domestic violence education and healing and group activities including outings, potlucks, cooking, ares and crafts and seasonal celebrations.
