Had the DPF croak on our 2012 X5d at just over 70,000 miles. BMW extended a goodwill repair and replaced the DPF without charge (THANK YOU BMW!) Now I'd like to monitor the health of the DPF on a regular basis using my Carly adapter. Problem is, Carly has so many parameters that I am unsure.
1. Why do I have issues with my DPF? There may be various problems preventing successful regeneration. In most cases, there are fault codes stored in the drive train or in the exhaust system.
2. I wanted an easy way to monitor DPF regens. I use Carly for BMW, which is great, but the interface isn't the best.
So, I've managed to automate the process completely. I've got an old phone that lives in the centre console, when I start the engine the phone automatically loads up Carly, goes to the connections page, connects to Bluetooth then loads the parameters page, all without any.
