Hey everyone I just got done deleting the Egr on my 1997 hilux surf with the 3.0td and factory inter cooler. I used the blockoff kit from vanlife northwest and installed an egt temp probe on the exhaust plate. I cleaned a ton of carbon buildup out of the intake manifold and intake ports.
I bled. Just out of curiosity out of all of you who have disabled the egr valve,whether by cable ties/ball bearing or by going down the blanking plate route,how many of you are still running that particular truck or more importantly that head? Remove these 2 x bolts 1st for the pipe above the EGR valve. 4. Now undo the other 4 x 12mm nuts and bolts from the EGR valve and unplug this from the wiring loom, this can now be removed.
