Hello, I got my GR86 less than a week ago and I was excited to try the remote connect and start my engine with the my key or toyota app. The SOS button works, I have a 1-year subscription, talked to the customer service through SOS button but they cannot seem to help me setup. Heck, Toyota doesn't even have the online parts catalog updated for the 22 GR86.
Also, From my research the key fob (not app) doesn't support remote start based on GR86 manual and following Toyota/Subaru standard procedure for remote start. Just an FYI, there are multiple owners whose remote connect and remote start stops working after renewal (and paying). Toyota can't fix it, the dealer can't fix it, it's been going on for a few months now. My car is one of the affected ones.

You also have to activate the service through the car (I activated mine by talking to road side assistance through the car). Then you should be able to remote start your 86 through the Toyota app. 17K subscribers in the GR86 community.
