This document sets out Ampère’s climate action plan. The document includes the following Chapters:
1.Background
2.Commitment to limiting global warming to 1.5 °C
3.SMART targets for performance and impact
4.Allocation of resources for implementation
5.Stakeholder engagement
6.Governance
7.Review and validity
Ampère is committed to making a positive impact on both society and the environment. In line with this, Ampère is committed to supporting the global ambition to limit global warming to 1.5 °C.
Ampère is a part of the Ahold Delhaize group. Ahold Delhaize has set near-term (2030) and long-term (2040 and 2050) climate targets for both its own operations (Scope 1 and 2) and its value chain (Scope 3). These targets have been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which has confirmed that Ahold Delhaize’s climate targets are in conformance with the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard, and are in line with the overall objective to limiting global warming to 1.5 °C in line with the Paris agreement. For more information on Ahold Delhaize’s targets and the SBTi validation, please see here.
Since Ampère and bol are both part of the Ahold Delhaize group, both Ampère and bol have to contribute to achieving Ahold Delhaize’s SBTi-validated targets. For more information on how bol aims to do this, please see here. As part of its contribution, Ampère has:
-Committed to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 2030 with 25% compared to its 2022 baseline
-Committed to a Net Zero target on Scope 1 and 2 by 2040
To achieve its targets for 2030 and 2040, Ampère has set several specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART) targets for its performance and impact. Amongst others, its targets include:
1.100% fully-electric last mile operations by 2035.
2.Switch from grey to 100% green energy for Ampère’s depots by the end of 2026.
To achieve its SMART targets, Ampère will allocate, amongst others, the following resources to implement these targets:
Human resources
Various Ampère teams and senior executives are involved in implementing actions to achieve Ampère’s SMART targets. Amongst others, Ampère’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer are working on these actions. Their teams and various other colleagues are involved in realising these actions.
Technical resources
Ampère is implementing and working with a variety of technical tools that help achieve its SMART targets. Amongst others:
-Ampère has requested access to its depot heating controls, and now using these controls to lower its excess gas consumption.
-Ampère created a dashboard for monitoring power consumption per driver, so vehicle utilisation can be optimised.
Material resources
Ampère is deploying various material resources to achieve its SMART targets, such as:
-Ampère is purchasing and/or renting more fully electric vehicles.
-Ampère has implemented a bike leasing plan, allowing employees to either lease a bike or buy one with tax benefits.
In the implementation of its actions to reach its SMART targets, Ampère is regularly collaborating with various stakeholders. The following stakeholder groups are most involved in Ampère’s implementation:
-Ampère employees. Ampère is working with its employees to implement actions and develop new actions. For instance, Ampère is working with its employees to reduce the emissions associated with their commuting and business travel.
-Suppliers. Ampère is collaborating actively with its suppliers to make its operations (for instance, its depots and vehicles) more sustainable. For example, Ampère works with its suppliers to switch its depots from grey to green energy.
-Investors. Ampère is collaborating actively with bol to implement its actions and track progress towards its targets.
-Customers. Ampère is collaborating actively with its customers to implement its actionsWe limit human rights risks by being rigorous in our internal protocols, placing good conduct at the center of our collaboration agreements with suppliers, and evaluating the process.
This approach has been established and is supported by the Ampère management team. Implementation rests with the Ampère departments, in particular with the business controllers.
Ampère will update its climate action plan at the latest by 2027.Nothing expressed or referred to in this internal document will be construed to give any stakeholder any legal right, claim or expectation with respect to this internal document. This internal document may be amended or revoked by the Management Team of Ampère at any time and without prior notice. The company reserves the right to deviate from this document.
