Lay some toilet tissue on top of the pan connector and see if it gets wet when you flush. If it does, the leak is probably from the cistern to pan joint, as moggridgeplumbing suggested, rather than the pan to soil pipe joint. I overcame one of my biggest DIY fears and successfully repaired my leaking toilet! I did a whole lot of Googling ahead of this project! I'll share the step by step process in this video.

Learn about how to fix a leaking close coupled toilet and how to solve close coupled toilet cistern leaks in newly installed toilet suites. I repaired a Close Coupled Toilet leaking fresh water between the cistern and pan. Water was leaking from the coupling joint when the toilet was flushed.

We have an old wall-hung-tank toilet. The tank connects to the bowl with what I think is called a flush elbow. See attached pics.

Tonight it started leaking from the slip joint marked "1". I tried tightening it a little and it then started leaking from slip joint "2". So I decided to remove the elbow and reconnect it after getting whatever washers, etc., were necessary.

I was able to unscrew. As you can see it the pictures, there is a white pipe coming from the bottom of the cistern, turns a right angle, then into the loo. One picture shows looking up at the weeping joint and the other is the end where it fits into the loo.

I would really appreciate some advice regarding a leak on this joint. I thought these joints were called compression joints, but I am also told that compression joints don't have washers, so I am not sure. I have marked where it is leaking on the first photo.

In the past I have. Hi, I have a leak in the inlet pipe to the toilet cistern. Could you please advise how to fix it? Seems a compression fit from plastic connectors.

Close coupled toilet leaking overflow pipe joint? The overflow pipe is fixed to the bottom of the cistern and water is leaking past the joint. I have tried to fix it but because of the position of the toilet right in a corner, I can't get a good grip on the plastic collar that pulls the pipe down, making the seal.
