BYOD Readiness Checklist

Instructions to Participants

Please complete this mandatory checklist.

* This information will help us determine whether you might need a loaner laptop, ensuring we can get you underway swiftly, especially if any hard blocks are noted.

Important: Before attending the event, please work with your corporate IT and security teams to ensure your device is configured to support the workshop's technical labs.

Track Selection

1. IT Whitelisting & Permissions Checklist

Domain / URL Blocking Testing

Hard Block

Select your track below to verify access to required URLs. Request IT to whitelist any blocked domains.

Public/Guest WiFi Navigation

Hard Block

I confirm my device allows connecting to guest/public WiFi networks, including navigating captive portals if required by the venue.

Corporate VPN Restrictions

Hard Block

I confirm my device is not restricted by a corporate VPN or strict firewall that could block access to the lab environments.

Browser Compatibility & Policies

Hard Block

I have verified my browser is up to date (Chrome and Edge are preferred, but other modern browsers will work provided the lab URLs load successfully).

Incognito / Private Browsing

Soft Block

I have verified that I am able to open and successfully use Incognito Mode (or Private Browsing) without it being disabled by corporate IT policies.

Clipboard Access (Copy/Paste)

Soft Block

I have configured browser settings to allow unrestricted clipboard access for code snippets (not blocked by Data Loss Prevention software).

Understanding Status Types

Hard Block

This indicates a strict requirement. If a URL doesn't load successfully or if your corporate VPN absolutely cannot be disabled, you may need to use a loaner laptop to participate. Please select "Issue / Doesn't load" or "No / Blocked" on those rows to let organizers know you may need alternative hardware.

Soft Block

This indicates a recommended requirement. If you experience an issue here (such as unable to copy-paste natively due to corp limits), it may cause minor friction during the lab, but you can typically proceed without needing a loaner laptop.
