Many BMW owners call us about getting a "battery discharged" message on their dash. This is to alert you that your battery is getting low and the vehicle needs time to charge it before you shut the engine down again.
However, the replace message pinged upon entry to the car despite new key Fob batteries and would not go away. I therefore decided to remove and reinsert both Fob batteries whilst inside the car with the engine running and then reset both Fob's against the steering column for good measure.
