what's your thought on reliability for a 2020-2021 sonata limited? looking to buy a new car, i wanted to hear some feedback from people that have/had this car how reliable is it? i love all the features it has but want to make sure it's good feel free to add any other input on what you think of the car that i should know! thank you!
Hey Reddit, Looking to see if anyone has had similar experiences with Hyundai and hoping to get some advice. Just picked up a brand new 2024 Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid (~1,000 miles) at the end of May and last week while driving it threw a critical engine alert ("Check Hybrid Engine - Battery Management System Problem").
I will say that if you're concerned about long term reliability, absolutely make sure you follow the severe usage maintenance timeline in your owner's manual. I'm not sure what it is exactly for the '23 Sonata hybrid, but I have a '21 Elantra hybrid and the severe usage maintenance timeline has things like oil changes every 6 months or 3,750 miles, replacing the brake fluid every 2.
realistically hyundai's are as reliable as anything else outside of the drivetrains with known problems, which to be clear is quite frankly unacceptable and shameful. Get something with an engine that's been out a few years without any major problems and it's golden.

Long term reliability of 2018 Sonata? I'm the second owner of a 2018 Sonata SE with 37K miles. I recently had to replace an engine sensor that put the car into limp mode (800 bucks poorer) and it shook my confidence a little bit in the car.
The Sonata is probably the best sedan in its segment until the new Accord comes. It has a nice interior, the hybrid has good power and fuel economy. Hyundai hybrids are surprisingly reliable, so it should actually be fine with good maintenance. Exterior is subjective, but it's better than the Camry in every way except reliability and MPG.
2012 sonata hybrid with 213k miles. finally starting to have some hybrid issues so currently searching reddit if i find any good resources about the car doesnt seem like it so far.

Hyundai Hybrid reliability? Hello Reddit, My 15' gas model sonata was totaled in an accident and now I'm looking for a used Hyundai hybrid. Found a 17' sonata hybrid, one owner with 45k miles. I have never owned a hybrid before and not very familiar with hybrids. Is the 17' sonata hybrid reliable?

Hey. I had my 2024 hybrid limited for a bit over month. About to reach 2000 miles! Long commute and I had s planned trip! Love it, I tested accord hybrid, Camry hybrid and even some SUVs and I loved it. I had before a 2018 hybrid sonata which I drove 30 k miles (bought used, traded in after almost 3 years). I loved the design on the new model and drove really familiar, I needed something.
