CalCOFI 9510NH CTD Data Processing Notes

Summary: The single set of primary sensors: temp, cond, & O2 worked well this
cruise and no replacements were required. All sensors were on their second cruise since
being serviced & calibrated but seemed to agree well with botthe samples.
Agreement with the bottle samples was very good so the r-squares were low on O2s.

Software: DOS Datcnv(Seasoft exe), running in a Windows XP virtual machine on Windows 7.
Additional Seasoft processing done using v7.23.2 SBE Data Processing. Since the no sensors were
changed, only one .xmlcon file was used in the Derive module.
Fluorometer sensitivity was not changed so one bottle sample vs fluorometer voltage regression
plot was needed. Linear & polynomial were pretty similar but I prefer using the 2nd-order
polynominal unless there is no difference.
Note: I noticed that calibration coefficients on the conductivity sensor were ABCD not GHIJ.
GHIJ should be used on sensors calibrated after Jan 1995. These values were not entered into
any .con file so unavailable. I did use the GHIJ calibration for the temperature sensor. Both
ABCD & GHIJ were entered into the temperature calibration. I do not know why the conductivity
was not. With bottle corrections applied, the CTD salinity data agree well with bottle samples.

Corrections:
No Line.sta corrections were need this cruise.

Cast 027 was interrupted during the downcast at 90m so the entire cast was restarted from surface.
Cast 027B is actually the complete cast so processed cast 027B were renamed to 027 & 027B asc
  files were not saved.
There were several Goericke casts to around 100m. All the bottles were used by Dr Goericke so
cruise-average bottle correction coefficients were applied (vs sta-average bottle samples).

Fluorometer sensitivity was not changed during this cruise.
