CalCOFI 0310NH CTD Data Processing Notes

66 standard CalCOFI stations occupied (pre-SCCOOS/LTER which started participating
in 2004). No ISUS nitrate sensor and only one SBE43 O2 sensor which did not agree
very well with bottle oxygens. There was quite a bit of scatter this cruise so
the calibration may have been outdated. Regardless of calibration, the O2 sensor
vs bottle O2 regression was not as smooth as typically seen on future cruises.

There were also problems with the secondary salinity/conductivity sensor on
Casts 030(upcast only), and casts 031-034
Cast 030 downcast offset was the standard secondary offset used on all stations which was 0.0000
Cast 030 upcast had an offset of 0.1837 applied
Cast 031 down and upcast had an offset of 0.0326 applied
Cast 032 down and upcast had an offset of 0.0293 applied
Cast 034 down and upcast had an offset of 0.0218 applied
Cast 033 was shallow so there were no deep salts >350m to calculate an offset so the
average offset from casts 032 & 034 of 0.0256 was applied.

Cast 001 hdr Line.Sta was changed from 93.26.7 to 93.3 26.7

Noted: Cast 030 - secondary salinity below 622m (scan 22333) looks suspect - sensor problem?
Plugged by jelly or ???. Primary looks consistant.
