Mac OS Screenshot Delay
Even with this feature disabled, there is still a write-to-disk delay before the screenshot file appears on the desktop or in the finder window. Using PNG or JPG format, i estimate it takes about 3 sec for the file to show up.
I was wondering if anyone else was having a delay when taking screenshots . Whether it's a fullscreen or region screenshot , it would take about 1-2 seconds for it to register after I press the screenshot shortcut.

The screenshot tool has a weird glitch that causes a delay when there's a microphone selected for screen recording. Press Command+Shift+5 to bring up the toolbar thing, click on one of the screen recording items, click on Options, and then set your microphone to "None." Exit and try taking a screenshot again.
