The state building code council has also written building codes for tiny homes, as mandated by Tiny House Bill 5383, which became effective on July 28th, 2019. (a) "Tiny house" and "tiny house with wheels" means a dwelling to be used as permanent housing with permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating, cooking, and sanitation built in accordance with the state building code.
