Unlike orange peel textures, which are applied with a sprayer and resemble the fruit’s skin, knockdown is typically applied with a wide trowel or knife and requires a subsequent flattening step. Before you begin, it's essential to decide if your substrate is suitable; this technique works best on drywall or plaster surfaces that are clean and structurally sound.
