Tiling a Floor with a Drain: A Comprehensive Guide

Embarking on a tiling project in your bathroom or kitchen? Chances are, you'll need to incorporate a drain into your design. Tiling a floor with a drain might seem daunting, but with the right steps and a bit of patience, you can achieve a professional-looking result. This guide will walk you through the process, from planning to finishing, ensuring your project is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Understanding Your Drain

Before you start, it's crucial to understand the type of drain you're working with. The two most common types are linear drains and point drains.

• Linear Drains: These are long, narrow drains typically used in shower pans. They allow for a more seamless, modern look and can be installed with a slight slope to direct water towards the drain.
• Point Drains: These are the traditional round drains found in the center of many shower floors. They can be a bit more challenging to tile around but are still a viable option.
