EDIT: my suggestion would be to go with a larger herringbone design. Small format tiles come on mosaic sheets and are more challenging to install in some ways bc they're glued or netted together, not rigid like a solid tile would be. Tiling floors is easy and a small bathroom is a great project for your first attempt.
