1. Overview

Charlie ("the App") is a poker session management tool available on iOS and the web. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. We keep things minimal — we only collect what's necessary to run the App.

2. Data We Collect

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store:

• Email address — used as your unique account identifier
• Display name — shown to other players in your sessions

When you use the App, we store:

• Session data — session names, buy-in amounts, cash-out amounts, and timestamps
• Player information — names and optional email addresses of players you add to sessions
• Expenses and side bets — descriptions, amounts, and participant lists
• Friends list — email addresses and optional nicknames of players you save

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Contacts or address book
• Photos or media (the chip scanner uses the camera in real time but does not store images)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Health, fitness, or financial data

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide App functionality:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your session
• Display session information to you and other participants
• Calculate settlements and track expenses
• Sync data across your devices in real time

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the App.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — for authentication only. We receive your name and email; we do not access your Google or Apple account data beyond this.
• Google Cloud Platform — our backend infrastructure (Cloud Run and Firestore) is hosted on GCP. Data is stored in the United States.

We do not integrate any analytics, advertising, or crash reporting SDKs.

6. Data Storage and Security

• All communication between the App and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
• Session tokens are signed with HMAC SHA-256 and stored in HttpOnly cookies.
• Data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with access restricted to authenticated services.
• No sensitive data is stored on your device beyond session cookies.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email address below. Upon request, we will delete your data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your session data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
