If you have volunteered to count the offering at Amberlea... or... are thinking about it and you want to know to use the church office computer to support counting, then this training is for you.
What will I learn?
The video and guide provided below explains how to operate Amberlea's "counter spreadsheet."
After this training you will be able execute the following workflow:
Initiate the counting session of the office computer
Record charitable donations
Record the cheques & cash for the charitable donations
Record non-charitable revenue
Record the cheques & cash for the non-charitable revenue
Verify that the physical cash and cheques that you will put in the deposit bag, match the counter spreadsheet
Print the deposit slip, envelope secretary report, and office administrator report (one PDF)
How does this training work?
There are three parts to counter training:
Training Video: The video below shows the operation of the spreadsheet, step by step. It will give you an overview before counting in-person, and you can view as often as you desire as a refresher.
Reference Guide: The reference guide explains how the Amberlea counting process fits within our financial management and accounting controls, as well as summarizing how to use the tabs in the counting spreadsheet.
In-person: You will count with someone else who has used the counter's spreadsheet
