Anyone used plastic shower panels rather than tiles to redo a bathroom? Looking for ways to renovate our very tired looking bathrooms without learning to tile and came across the concept of these floor to ceiling panels that you just glue onto the existing wall. Has anyone here used them? Were they easy to fit? Have they lasted? Why can't I buy shower wall panels like the ones the "1 day bath remodeler" guys use? Usa (self.HomeImprovement) submitted 4 hours ago by Altitude7199 I could remodel my bath so much faster if I could find those panels, but home Depot and Lowe's don't sell them!
Would love to hear honest reviews from installers or end users of laminate or solid surface shower wall panels. Please no input from manufacturers or sales reps or infomercials either. Has anyone opted for wall panels instead of tiles for a bathroom? Ordered some samples and I'm not sure I like them, I expected them to be slightly 3.
I'm sure someone can create custom acrylic panels for the walls. It's the same principle as marble, but a material closer to vinyl in terms of application. However, any custom service takes more than "one day", as Bath Fitter advertises.

Let's explore the pros and cons of different bath panel materials to help you decide which one works best for your home.
Bathroom wall panels offer a stylish, DIY-friendly alternative to tile or stone for wet areas of the bathroom, including tub surrounds and shower stalls. The panels are expensive to buy, so you're likely to pay more per square metre, but potentially save money on fitting because they are quicker to fit and you don't have to pay a tiler. For our recent bathroom, the panels we liked worked out just as expensive as buying the equivalent tiles and paying the tiler, so that's why we didn't go with it.
"For the best shower wall panels, consider options like acrylic, PVC, or fiberglass. These materials offer durability and easy maintenance. What are your preferences or experiences with shower wall panels? Customize your shower to perfection with a HYDRO.
We've just gone with a new shower comprised of 2x 11mm laminate panels and 2 glass panels for the enclosure. The laminates are solid MDF core rather than the hollow variants and rather heavy. 100% happy with the panels.
Good finish, look smart, went up relatively quickly and minimal seal/possible leak length compared to tiles.
