GEOL 104 Theropoda I: Dinosaurs Red in Tooth and Claw

Nuthetes is the name given to a genus of coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur, either a dromaeosaurid or a tyrannosauroid, known only from fossil teeth and jaw fragments found in rocks of the middle Berriasian Among its sister taxa, Linheraptor is believed to be most closely related to Tsaagan mangas. Linheraptor and Tsaagan were intermediate between basal and derived dromaeosaurids. Dakotaraptor is a potentially chimaeric genus of maniraptoriform theropod dinosaur. Elements of the holotype and referred specimens were later found to belong to trionychid turtles. #raptor#dromaeosauridae#dinosaur#dinosaurs#raptors
