The short version

What stays on your device

Your bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading progress, language, text size, font and theme are stored only on your device. We cannot see them. If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include these in your own Google account backup; that is controlled by Google and your phone settings, not by us.

Reading the free content

The free content is inside the app and works without the internet. Nothing about your reading is sent to us.

If you buy Premium

Premium is a subscription sold through Google Play. Google handles your payment and receives your payment details; we never see your card or bank details. The paid content (extra languages and the plain-language Explain layer) is not stored in the app itself. It is downloaded after you subscribe, and this is what happens:

Service providers

We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or combine it with anything else.

Permissions

The app uses the internet permission only to download Premium content and check your subscription, and the Google Play billing permission to sell it. It does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location.

Children

The app is a study aid for general audiences and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Keeping and deleting data

Everything on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. The subscription record on our server contains no name or contact details. To ask us to delete the record linked to your purchase, write to us at the address below with the date of your purchase.

About the content

This app is an educational reading aid. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for the official text of the Constitution as published by the Government of India, or for the advice of a qualified lawyer.

The explanations, summaries, meanings, memory aids and notes in the app present the author's own understanding, written to make the text easier to read. Provisions can be read in more than one way, and courts, scholars and readers may interpret them differently. Translations and amendment summaries are provided for convenience. Where any wording differs from the official published text, the official text governs. Please refer to the official sources for legal, academic or examination use.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
