Since 2007, the juvenes translatores translation competition is organised annually by the european commission. It is open to students across the european union who are 17
years
of age and who have the ability to translate between any two of the 552 possible language combinations of the eu's 24 official languages.
The competition is launched in september each year and schools can register up until mid-october. All entries are then entered into a random draw and 705 schools are invited to proceed to the next stage. The final number of participating schools per country is equal to the number of meps representing that country – i.
The ipf run a number of competitions during the year. The two main club competitions are the national shield competition held in november and the national champonships, held in april. In addition, there are two individual competitions, the print & projected images competition and the national nature competition. Both of these are by individual entry. Entry to both of these competitions is only via regional rounds. It is ipf policy that national panels representing ireland abroad will be picked from the top images entered in these national competitions.
This competition is open to residents of the republic of ireland aged 18 or over except employees of the promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion. To enter, entrants must tell us their favourite irish walk in the comments on facebook and instagram. The opening date for entries is 2nd january 2022, 09:00am irish standard time (“ist”) and closing date for receipt of entries is 22nd january 2022, 02:00pm ist any entrant found to create multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible. 5. Myeu50 is a competition across all three levels of education in ireland, primary schools, post-primary schools, and third level institutions, hosted by european movement ireland in partnership with the government of ireland. The competition’s aim is to mark ireland’s 50 years of eu membership by challenging pupils and students to be creative and explore new ideas about ireland and europe.
