Scope and Approach This systematic literature review (SLR) explores the development and application of privacy-preserving data platforms specifically tailored to the agricultural and food supply chains. The review focuses on the evolving landscape of data architectures, data sovereignty, and advanced privacy-preserving techniques. Precision agriculture emphasizes using data to make smarter farming decisions. In the digital world, authentication and encryption are two prevalent ways to keep farm data secure, accurate, and trustworthy. Modern farms face growing digital threats. Learn how to protect your equipment, data, and operations from cyberattacks in agriculture today. Cybersecurity services for the agriculture industry protect digital farming systems from cyber threats. These services secure farm IT networks, OT environments, IoT devices, and precision agriculture platforms against ransomware, data theft, and operational disruption. Modern agriculture depends on connected technologies. Since these technologies collect a large amount of data related to the farm, the farmers are concerned about the privacy of their data. The farmers are worried about unauthorized access, collection, and sharing of their data with third parties by the agricultural technology providers (ATPs). Are privacy-preserving data platforms a threat to agriculture and food systems? Privacy-preserving data platforms have significant potential for agriculture and food systems. However, as these systems grow, the risk of cyber-attacks targeting sensitive agricultural data also increases. Does the government protect farm data? The legal frameworks that govern farm data are fragmented and do not protect farm data as it is expected by the farmers. The government's intervention in farm data protection and establishment of standards for farm data practices can address some of the existing governance challenges of farm data (Jouanjean et al., 2020). How to protect sensitive farm information? To protect sensitive farm information, end-to-end data encryption is recommended. This will help in encoding the data that can only be read when the data are decrypted. Moreover, personal information stored by ATPs on laptops and portable hard drives should be protected by using technological safeguards such as encryption and password protection. How do you protect your farm data? Other cyber security approaches can be using two-layer authentication and network security for data transfer (Gupta et al., 2020). If farm data are shared with third parties or industry partners, consent must be obtained from farmers and other actors who contribute to data generation. AbstractData-driven agriculture, which integrates technol-ogy and data into agricultural practices, has the potential to improve crop yield, disease resilience, and long-term soil health. However, privacy concerns, such as adverse pricing, discrimi-nation, and resource manipulation, deter farmers from sharing data, as it can be used against them. To address this barrier, we propose a ...
