Side effects are typically mild and may include swelling, redness, bleeding or blistering at the site. A scab will develop as the sore heals, and your provider may suggest that you use Vaseline to help it heal. There is little to no risk of nerve injury or infection, in which case antibiotics are given. With proper aftercare, applying SPF, you protect your skin and reduce the chances of pigment alterations and scars.
It has low recurrence rates and comprises of an unexplored therapeutic option in dermatology. In some cases, recurrence is a possibility, particularly with more aggressive types such as SCC or BCC. Regular consultations with your GP or specialist allows full care and any problems to be monitored promptly.
