I would go with grey on the outside and white on the inside, with the exception of doors as dynevoran said, we have grey bifolds and it doesn't look out of place with the other white windows on the inside. Friends of ours have white on the inside of their bi-folds and it definitely does the opposite. We went for white internal on all the other rooms though, particularly bedrooms white internal feels more homely.

Personally I don't think grey windows will be the same kind of fad as the brown wood effect plastic. Light grey window frames look fresh and modern against a white exterior. If you're replacing your windows as part of a bigger renovation, consider the other external elements, such as the render on the house and the choice of material for the patio and any other stonework. Grey too strong inside we're going the other way.

we were going to have white internal timber and anthracite grey alu-clad external but after lots of thinking and looking at photos and watching lots of Building the Dream we've decided that we prefer the anthracite internally as well as externally. we love the dark windows frames internally. Anthracite Grey is a neutral colour that blends well with a huge variety of brick colours, just like white does.

Many modern architectural styles favor lighter, neutral colors on the outside of the window, while allowing the homeowner to choose a bolder, more vibrant color on the inside. We've discovered all ten of our interior windows and the front door need replacing ASAP, so we've decided to take the opportunity to drag our 1980s home into the modern age. We'd talked about having anthracite grey on all the outside frames and the door, which I agree with, but I'd assumed we'd go white for the inside.

Another idea is to use a different colour on the exterior and interior of your property, for example by having grey inside or outside the window and a contrasting shade that's darker or lighter hue that suits the look of your home. I have a 1906 house and have very large windows, I have painted the front of the house farrow and ball down pipe grey with royal blue front door and gates. The walls are painted off white.
