Dry-Sink unit was part of the "Spirit of '76" Collection. Built in 1974, the record player slides out. A dry sink was originally intended simply as a stand for a wash bucket.

It gradually evolved into a beautiful and highly functional piece of furniture. This unit contains a stereo record changer, AM/FM radio, and 8-track player as well as two 10″ Woofers and two 3 1/2 inch Tweeters. Offered is a very nice console radio from the 1970s.

Known for their quality and innovation, these consoles hold a special place in the hearts of many audio enthusiasts, and their legacy continues to live on in the vintage audio market. Which meant the establishment of the Decorator Stereo line, to use those cabinets up with new Magnavox receivers, new Collaro record changers, and tape units. 1977 was the last of this line intended to use up old cabinet inventory (which made sense for those customers who wanted older style cabinets).

I bought a magnavox dry sink stereo. When I turn on the receiver the sound stays on for a couple of minutes, then the digital readout and audio goes out. The same goes for the turntable.

The odd thing is that the cassette deck works with no issue. Any insight? Thank you. Top lorenz200w Post subject: Re: 1970's Magnavox Dry Sink Stereo.

The electronics are housed in a two. Saturday, February 26, 2011 Magnavox Stereo ('75) It's astounding to me how far along we've come these last few decades in our means of listening, recording, and storing audio material. In 2011, you can easily fit 6 gazillion songs in the palm of your hand and carry them with you everywhere you go.
