Hello! I know this is a bit of an unusual request but please bear with me. We are in need of replacing our bath towels - the 7+ yo IKEA towels we have now don't absorb any longer (despite not ever using fabric softener) and are to falling apart and no longer an even color. But we're not complaining after having them work so well for so long.:) We're looking for a highly absorbent towel that.
Anyone have experience with Onsen towels? Like the brand Onsen towel, not a towel you get at an onsen. I really love the waffle knit and I want a really big towel, but $80 is a lot so wanted some thoughts from this sub before pulling the trigger. Do they hold up in regular washing machines/dryers? Do they actually dry you off nicely?
If you like a lightweight towel that feels great and takes up a minimal amount of space, the Onsen waffle towel may be your new favorite towel.
They're not the "ultra mega super plush" kind of towels (which that overly-plushness actually contributes to fiber degradation over time) but it's a cross between a waffle and a "regular" towel imo.
