Most-liked video | 73K views · 7K reactions | In case you need a bit of whimsy in these dark times ♥️ Here are some helpful tips and tricks for making these seed paper valentines ⬇️ First off, you don’t need a special paper making kit to create these, but if you want to explore the world of paper making, the kit is not super expensive and really helpful. I’ll link the one I have in stories ❤️ If you don’t want to go that route, a splatter screen also works great! (Thanks for this tip, @sibster) I love using the random paper scraps my kids leave around to color some recycled tissue paper. This is a fun way to play with colors and allow your kids to learn about them hands on. Rip up the paper and allow to soak in water for an hour (or overnight) before blending. Dump into a bin large enough for your screen to move freely in and out. Add enough water to make the pulp free flowing. You’ll want more than you think. Then add in seeds. Small, flat, and thin work best. Avoid the wildflower seed mixes with filler - I made this mistake and it was a mess (and didn’t work.) You can also add in flower petals at this point. They make them even more beautiful! Stir around the water mixture, dip in your screen and lift strait up. If what’s on the screen doesn’t look even, dip it back in, swirl the water, and try again. You want a thin layer. There’s a bit of trial and error with this step, but it’s fun, I promise! Allow the water to drip off for a bit and then flip upside onto a towel. Take a sponge and dap the water through the screen before removing. Allow to dry fully. Cut your dried paper into hearts and attach to cardstock with glue (see my previous reels for one I make and use.) Write some sweet little things in the front, and add in notes on the backside for how to plant. 1/4” depth should be just fine for most seeds.
