"Ace of Aces" Charity Speed Painting Gallery

Number of images: 49

Something new at this year's GenCon.

What happens when you take some of the best painters in the business, and give them only an hour to paint, while being heckled and stared at by a crowd?

Lots of laughs, sweating brows, and money for a charity that helps gifted children!

The painters were:

Thanks to Crocodile Games for the figures, Games Workshop for the brushes, and Reaper Miniatures for the paints!

And a BIG thanks to painter extraordinaire, Mike McVey! After his many years at GW, and his stint at WOTC, Mike has gone on to work for Privateer Press and Rivethead Studios to bring Iron Kingdoms to life as a miniatures game! He took time off from the busy Warmachine booth to act as judge in our little contest.

( No painters were harmed in the making of this contest. The resulting figures were auctioned off at GenCon, and raised $250 for the charity! )

The horror of what lies ahead sinks in. The primer is rough, and the paint choices are severely limited. Oh, and they only have ONE hour.

Can they work, while being stared at? Okay, it's a small crowd, I know. And they're not really staring either.
