Mac Monterey Desktop Background Not Working. Just don't move the image from where is was. When i reboot my macbook, the login screen background wallpaper isn't my custom wallpaper for some reason, it's the default monterey. Macos can change the desktop’s wallpaper on its own if the custom image previously used as the wallpaper is no longer found on the system. Select desktop & screen saver, select any dynamic desktop wallpeper and from the top dropdown. It’s stuck on studio display dynamic, but only shows daytime/bright mode. After upgrade to monterey, i've only been able to change the desktop background to the monterey provided backgrounds. Drag and drop a picture to the desktop image and that image becomes the desktop background. With this interface, i’m not even able to select a solid color. I'd like my desktop background to cycle through macos desktop pictures automatically every x period, e.g.
