Transmission Dipstick Rusted. I replaced my transmission dipstick because the original one was about to rust through. After 2 months, the new one is covered in rust &. The dipstick was eliminated on 6spd transmission and up. Recently noted the tube broken went to check level and tube moved from left to right pretty freely. Checking my transmission oil today, i noticed about half way on the dipstick there is what appears to be a little surface rust on the metal.
