Tweeter Crackling Sound at Joy Lyons blog

Tweeter Crackling Sound. I have to gain set low, and when i turn up the volume, i hear what sounds like distortion or crackling on just the front. Most likely the new tweeter has a higher sensitivity resulting in more output and, in turn, more audible noise. It isn't really a crackle. If just one is off (re, sensitivity, freq range, etc.) that will be an issue. I have noticed i am still getting the crackling/distortion from the front left tweeter as i was with the stock speakers, but i really don't. The static crackling noise seems to come and go, i think it could be. I've tried them at the next setting down on my hu, which is 3.2hkz, and the tweeters don't seem quite bright enough for me. If you notice any distortion, crackling, or buzzing coming from the tweeter while playing audio, it may indicate damage. I have noticed a crackling static sound in one of my tweeters. I have checked the amp and it appears to be ok. And in some passages, pretty loud, i heard some very annoying crackling on the tweeters.
