E36 Armrest In E30. I have a husco armrest which is original to the e30. I dont think an arm rest in an e30 would be comfortable, the gear shifter or sterring wheel works fine for me. The e36 cupholder and armrest are definitely my favorite interior mod i've done by far. I think the rear section of the centre console of an armrest equipped e36 compact or z3 could fit. It's something that i think every e30 should have. I would like to see more pics of e36 armrests installed. Would cutting a u around the bottom be possible to make it fit around the transmission hump better? Very comfortable, wide and a great height for gearchange. Has anybody fitted a centre armrest from an e36 into an e30 and do you need the hanbrake surround under housing. First job is to strip the armrest down to its parts, it is possible to install them without taking the rest off but is much easier with it in pieces. I ended up doing this after spying a perfect (but dirty) e36 center console w/ leather armrest at a junk yard.
