Is Art Center Worth It. Overall, the school is grueling. It's forcing you to do that grind that all artists need. Artcenter college of design is a private institution that was founded in 1930. If you're passionate about art and envision a future in it, there's value to be found in attending a dedicated art college like the art. I was also completely fucked over in. Even though the environment of the school is competitive and feels like a 'a bootcamp' but with art, the community at the school is what i think shines through. But since we're in the pandemic, i'd honestly recommend just taking online art classes for cheap and prepare a portfolio for sometime in. Business and humanities are all geared towards art, however. Overall, i loved that place and my experiences there. I don’t think it was worth it at the time i attended. I don't think there are a lot of schools out there that will prepare young designers for the real world like artcenter does.
