Shifter Not Catching. On my commute yesterday, i noticed that my right shifter was no longer 'clicking' when shifting my rear derailleur up into a larger sprocket. When shifting from the small to the large ring, you're pulling against the very strong downshift spring in. The likely reason the shifter is not clicking is that it relies on the derailleur spring pulling on the cable for tension, so the internal parts are not moving when you work the thumb and finger levers.
