Tacoma Transfer Case Noise at Gustavo Christensen blog

Tacoma Transfer Case Noise. i have recently purchase a 2012 tacoma v6 4x4 double cab long bed automatic and have had an odd noise since the day i drove it off the lot. changed two wheel bearings today (one was bad) to try and get rid of the noise but it is still there; i took a short video of shifting the transfer case while the automatic transmission was in neutral. Don't remember a gasket between the cases on. sounds like the transfer case output shaft seal or the shifter seal. thought the double cardan joint in the drive line was bad, pulled the shaft. whines are in general good noises, clunks, clanks, rumbling, periodic and random vibrations are generally bad. transfer case changed a couple of weeks ago, also changed front differential again since the noise appears. change the fluid in the transfer case and check for metal shavings to see if you did damage.
