For fans of one of Nintendo’s platforming masterpieces, building a collection of Super Mario Odyssey color pages is a fun, budget-friendly way to scale or relive the excitement of Mario’s global adventure. Whether you’re a parent planning screen-free activities, a teacher designing a themed arts-and-crafts lesson, or simply a fan who loves coloring your favorite characters, these printable pages let you personalize Mario, Cappy, Bowser, Peach, and other iconic characters from the Odyssey era.
With the right selection of Super Mario Odyssey printable color pages, you can capture the atmosphere of each kingdom—from the lush foliage of Cascade Kingdom to the bustling streets of New Donk City—without even turning on a console. The appeal lies in how closely classic Mario art blends with Odyssey’s modern flair, giving you recognizable silhouettes and outlines that are easy to color yet detailed enough to keep older kids and adults engaged. In this guide, we’ll go through what to look for, where to find high-quality sets, and how to use the pages to make family game nights, parties, and classroom activities more creative.
Why Super Mario Odyssey Color Pages Are So Popular
Super Mario Odyssey is one of the most colorful Mario games ever made, which translates perfectly into printable coloring activities. The design of Mario’s outfit, his signature hat + Cappy combo, and the vivid environments give you a wide variety of shapes and patterns to fill in. That visual variety is exactly what makes Super Mario Odyssey printable color pages stand out compared to more basic Mario outlines.
On top of their visual appeal, these pages are popular because they offer a tangible, hands-on experience. Kids can replay not just the game but the “feel” of each kingdom by coloring related scenes. For adults, coloring has become a recognized way to relax and de-stress, and doing so with familiar video game characters adds a nostalgic twist that simple abstract patterns can’t match.
From a practical perspective, Super Mario Odyssey color page sets are also easy to scale. A single sheet can keep a child busy for an hour, while a whole packet can be distributed across a classroom, birthday party, or art station. They’re also cost-effective: once you download a good quality set, you can print as many copies as you want.
What Makes a Great Super Mario Odyssey Printable Color Page
If you’re searching online for a Super Mario Odyssey printable color page, you’ll quickly notice the quality varies. The best pages share a few common characteristics: clear line art, recognizable characters and poses, and designs that look good even when printed on standard home printers. Avoid blurry or overly compressed images; they’re frustrating to color and look smudged when printed.
Look for designs that capture key Odyssey motifs. Mario’s modern hat with the red “M” button, Cappy’s expressive eyes, and detailed kingdom imagery all add to authenticity. Background elements like clouds, islands, or city skylines can turn a simple character outline into a true Super Mario Odyssey printable color page that feels connected to the game’s world.
Avoid Low-Quality or Off-Model Designs
Not every “Super Mario Odyssey color page” is created equal. Some off-model art may distort proportions, mix characters from unrelated games, or use inconsistent styles. To get the best experience, favor sets that clearly reference Odyssey-specific outfits and scenes, such as Mario’s wedding suit, Cappy transformations, or Kingdom-specific details like Metro Kingdom cars or sand castles in Sand Kingdom.
Types of Super Mario Odyssey Color Page Sets You Can Print
There’s a surprising amount of variety in Super Mario Odyssey printable color page sets. You can categorize them into three broad types: character-focused pages, scene-based pages, and activity-based designs.
Character-Focused Coloring Pages
Character-centric Super Mario Odyssey printable color pages usually feature Mario in his iconic outfit, sometimes mid-jump or mid-throw with Cappy. Broodals in their tuxedos, Tiara, Bowser in his suit, and captured enemies also make great subjects. These pages are ideal for kids who have a favorite character and want to fill them in exactly as they appear in the game—or reimagine them with wild new color schemes.
Scene-Based and Kingdom-Themed Pages
Scene-based Super Mario Odyssey color pages depict entire snapshots of the game: Mario and Cappy standing on a rooftop overlooking New Donk City, or the moonlit climax with Peach captured by Bowser. These pages offer more complex compositions and background details, making them better suited for older kids or adults who enjoy layered coloring projects that go beyond simple character outlines.
Activity-Based and Tracing Designs
Some sets include more than straight line art. Activity-based Super Mario Odyssey printable color pages might have coloring sections combined with mazes, spot-the-difference mysteries, or tracing guides. These are especially helpful in classrooms, encouraging both fine motor skills and creative thinking around the game’s themes.
How to Find High-Quality Super Mario Odyssey Printable Color Pages
When looking for Super Mario Odyssey color page sets, prioritize sources that offer crisp, high-resolution downloads. Blurry images or watermarked previews often indicate low-quality content. Reliable options usually provide at least a sample image or a full preview so you know exactly what you’re printing before you commit paper and ink.
Pay attention to file type and size. High-quality Super Mario Odyssey printable color pages are usually available as PDFs or high-resolution PNGs. PDFs are especially handy for printing because they preserve line quality and scale properly. Regardless of format, make sure the pages are designed for standard letter or A4 paper unless you plan to resize them manually.
Safe Sources and Usage Tips
Super Mario Odyssey color pages for personal and educational use are widely available on fan sites, printable activity hubs, and art-sharing platforms. While Nintendo’s IP is protected, many creators share fan-made or officially released-looking designs that are suitable for home and classroom use. Always check the specific terms of the site or creator: some allow unlimited personal prints, while others request that you don’t redistribute the files commercially.
For the best results, print on slightly heavier paper—such as 60–80 lb text or 90–100 lb cardstock—especially if children will use markers or water-based mediums. This reduces bleed-through and makes the finished piece more durable for display on a fridge or bulletin board.
Using Super Mario Odyssey Color Pages at Home and in Class
These printable pages quickly become more than a quiet-time activity when you integrate them into broader themes. They can reinforce storytelling, geography, and even basic color theory—all while keeping Super Mario Odyssey in the spotlight.
Story Time and Gameplay Extensions
Parents can pair a Super Mario Odyssey printable color page with short narratives tied to each kingdom. For example, while a child colors a Metro Kingdom scene, you can talk about real-world cities, architecture, and transportation. This turns a simple coloring session into a mini geography-and-culture lesson anchored by a game kids already love.
Closer to the game itself, you can ask kids to color items they remember from specific levels—like a specific Power Moon, a special hat, or a unique capture mechanic. This encourages them to recall gameplay details, strengthening memory and attention to detail.
Classroom Integration
Teachers can use these pages as a reward, a brain break, or a themed center activity. A Super Mario Odyssey printable color page can double as a visual anchor for writing prompts: “Describe where Mario and Cappy are in this scene,” or “What would you do if you visited this kingdom?” By linking the page to short writing or discussion tasks, you bridge creative arts with literacy or social studies.
Making the Most of Supplies and Mediums
A good Super Mario Odyssey color page doesn’t demand professional materials to look great. Simple colored pencils, crayons, and fine-tip markers often produce cleaner edges than broad markers on thin printer paper. For older fans, adding subtle shading can bring out the depth suggested by the line art—especially on Mario’s hat, Cappy’s felt texture, or the metallic elements of Bowser’s outfits.
If you want a more polished result, try using a mix of mediums: colored pencils for soft gradients on Peach’s dress or the sky over New Donk City, and markers for bold, solid colors on Mario’s “M” or Cappy’s eyes. You can even experiment with digital coloring by importing the page into a drawing app, which is a fun bridge between traditional crafts and technology for more advanced fans.
Adding Extra Fun to Super Mario Odyssey Coloring Activities
To elevate coloring from a solo activity to a social event, consider pairing your Super Mario Odyssey printable color pages with related projects. Kids can cut out their colored characters and assemble a small diorama of Cascade Kingdom, Luncheon Kingdom, or any scene that sparks their imagination. This encourages three-dimensional thinking and turns flat sheets into a lasting display.
At birthday parties, print a packet of mixed pages and host a mini contest: most accurate colors, most creative palette, or “best use of sparkles.” With a small prize like stickers or a themed pencil set, a Super Mario Odyssey color page competition becomes a memorable party highlight.
For older fans and family nights, consider coloring together as a group. Everyone can pick a character or kingdom scene, color their page, then gather them as a single wall collage. It’s a shared, low-pressure activity that keeps the spirit of the game alive off-screen.
