I just spent over an hour reading threads about BMW 3- and 5-series (e.g., F30, F10, N52 and N55 engines) that experienced the "Drivetrain Malfunction". Hi everyone, I have a 2012 BMW 528i and it's been dependable for me for the most part; However, recently I received the infamous "drivetrain malfunction, drive moderately" message. The car now has a slight shake when idling and their has been a significant loss in power.

Also there is a slight delay when cranking. She's previously had the EGR valve replaced twice under warranty (and BMW have now extended warranty on that to something like 15 years) and both times the issue was prefaced by drivetrain malfunction warnings. Engine flawless for 28K miles. Drivetrain malfunction message came on suddenly.
