Freeze Plugs Location 6.0 Powerstroke. Well i have a freeze plug (front passenger side) leaking and i need to swap it. I've got a truck here where the customer filled the cooling system. So the other day i was replacing the egr and engine oil cooler in my 2006 6.0 when i started it, i was in the process of filling it with. Page 12, below and behind the exhaust manifolds, you can see the silver colored freeze plugs. Have a 2008 6.4 with a freeze plug blown out on the backside of the passenger side of the block behind the downpipe. Any advice on replacing this without dropping. Looks like a hole in the block to me. The disc above it is a freeze plug. Freeze plug on drivers side located directly behind the motor mount has decided to abandon ship and is out. Hard to tell with the rtv slathered on it. I've searched around a good bit and found almost no. Has anyone else had to replace freeze plugs in a 6.0l yet?
