Can't Get Metal Valve Caps Off. If you cant get them off with pliers or you twist the valve stems in the wheel instead of the cap off the valve stem. Hold the entire valve with a cloth and pull the cap slightly away from the direction where it should be screwed. All to often here in the rust belt we have to deal with corroded metal valve stem caps and especially on tpms sensors. Finally, apply moderate force to pull the cap off. Tape some paper towel to the top of the valve and soak it with penetrating oil.
